Let’s face it, 2020 is a year that most of us will be glad to see the back side of and for good reason. I am no exception.
I like to look for the positive in all situations if I can. And for 2020 the good that I can point to is lockdown gave me plenty of time to get things done. That doesn’t mean I got everything I needed or wanted to done but I did make a nice dent.
Here are a few of my favorites of 2020!
Deep Diving on Pinterest
It was the year I tried and mostly failed to get a handle on Pinterest. If you follow my YouTube vlog then you heard me lament about this a lot. I get nearly all my traffic from Google searches. Other bloggers claim to get thousands of visitors from their pins. When I checked the analytics on my website I had received 6 visitors.
So I went to school. Litterally. I signed up for the “princess of Pinterest”‘s course on how to successfully use Pinterest, and several other blogger’s Pinterest courses. What I learned was 1) make pretty pictures 2) keywords 3) Pin reguarly. All of which I knew.
I even reached out to Pinterest for their advice. They said 1) make pretty pictures 2) key words matter 3) Pin Regularly.
Needless to say I’m still frustrated with my Pinterest traffic.
We Fixed Water Damaged Tables!
Well I fixed a water damaged piece and showed my readers and viewers how to fix their water damaged tables.
We finished out basement at the start of the lockdown here in Minnesota so I couldn’t go out and get the furniture I wanted for my basement. I had to make do with what I had and that included giving an old console a makeover.
It turned out amazing!
We Polished Our Etsy Shops
Since most of our shops had to close for an extended period this year, it was time to focus on our online presence. There were quite a few posts this year covering your online businesses and I hope they helped jumpstart some sales.
If you missed some it’s not too late to get started!
I Shared My Short Cuts!
These were two of my favorite tricks to make life easier. Both of them seem so easy once you know the secret!
I hope some of these posts have been helpful to you in 2020. I’m looking forward to what comes out way in 2021! A new year with new projects and possibilities!
Don’t forget to sign up for my New Year 100 Projects 100 Days challenge. I am hoping it will jump start my year and get me through my backlog of projects.
I hope you can join me!
