This Dollar Tree stacked pumpkin centerpiece is an easy fall project that can be customized in all kinds of ways, but for mine, I used candy corn as the inspiration.
The shape was already there thanks to Dollar Tree’s three-stack pumpkin set. From there, it was all about changing the colors, adding texture, and dressing it up with a few simple embellishments.
Supplies
- Dollar Tree three-stack pumpkin set
- White paint
- Yellow mulberry paper
- Orange mulberry paper
- Decoupage medium
- Bronze metallic paint
- Dollar Tree maple leaves
- Dollar Tree fall bow
- Dollar Tree burlap flower
- Hot glue gun and glue sticks
Step 1: Paint the Pumpkin Stack
The first thing I did was coat the entire pumpkin stack in white paint.

This helped neutralize the original finish and gave me a clean base to work from. I also wanted the center pumpkin to stay white because the whole color scheme was inspired by candy corn.
Step 2: Decoupage the Top and Bottom Pumpkins
To create the candy corn look, I used mulberry paper on the top and bottom pumpkins.
I tore the paper into small, irregular pieces, then decoupaged the pieces into place until each pumpkin was covered.

- I used yellow on the top pumpkin
- I used orange on the bottom pumpkin

Leaving the middle pumpkin white gave the finished stack that candy corn color pattern.
Step 3: Paint the Stem
Before putting everything together, I painted the stem on the top pumpkin with bronze metallic paint. The original brown color was fine, but I wanted something a little richer and more polished.

Step 4: Assemble and Embellish
Once the pumpkins were ready, I put the stack together and started embellishing.
I used Dollar Tree maple leaves to rim the top two pumpkins, hot gluing them into place.

Between the middle and bottom pumpkins, I added a Dollar Tree fall bow. I removed the center of the bow and replaced it with a Dollar Tree burlap flower, then glued the finished embellishment between the two pumpkins.

Finished Dollar Tree Pumpkin Centerpiece
That’s it. The stack is done.

It’s an easy way to turn a basic Dollar Tree decoration into a more custom fall centerpiece, and the candy corn color palette makes it especially fun for Halloween.
Dollar Tree also sells a larger stacked pumpkin, about 4 feet tall, for $5. The same idea could easily be scaled up to make a porch decoration too.
