This little beauty was a literally rescued from the side of the road and I’m so glad I made the u-turn to get it! It’s a beautiful Merssman table that had been treated badly but because these tables are so solidly built it still had all its dignity intact. Can’t go wrong with dovetail joints like that!
Because the surface was glossy I decided to use my Junk Gypsy clear primer to make sure there was a solid bond. I don’t think I needed it because I’ve used Junk Gypsy Paint on glass and not had a problem but the table is going to my shop for sale so I wanted to be extra special sure.
I chose Junk Gypsy Faded Blue Jean and oh man! I love this color. I want to paint my entire dining room set this color (don’t tell my husband but this might happen). I used a foam roller so the paint was smooth. I also used a foam roller to apply the Junk Gypsy clear coat which leaves an amazing finish and it’s extremely durable.
I decided to use Junk Gypsy’s Granny’s Cornbread on the drawer as a little pop of happy unexpected color when you open the drawer.
I was able to polish the original hardware and it turned out amazing. A little steel wool and elbow grease was all it took to make it shine like new.
It’s going into the shop and I really don’t think it will stick around long!
