Junk Gypsy™ Paint is an American-made chalk and clay paint that is perfect for painting and repurposing your junk finds. It will adhere to almost any surface, including wood, metal, ceramic, stone, and more. It is fast-drying and provides an easy clean up so you can gypsy-fy™ your piece, turning it into treasured junk.

Prep: Begin by removing all dust and debris from your junk find. Wash your piece thoroughly with warm soapy water, a degreasing solution, or a 50/50 water and vinegar mix. Although most vintage finds do not require sanding or priming, better adhesion can be achieved when lightly sanding previously glossy finishes.

Application: Stir paint thoroughly before using. Apply paint with a good-quality brush or foam roller. Paint can also be sprayed (thinning with water may be required depending on your equipment). Allow paint to dry before applying a second coat. Once dry, if a vintage look is desired, distress paint using a damp cloth or medium to fine grit sandpaper. If distressing with a damp cloth, this should be done within the first 48 hours of painting, as the paint does cure and harden. Remove any sanding dust and seal and protect your new treasure with our Clear Coat finish.

Estimated Coverage: One quart covers approximately 100-150 square feet, depending on the technique of your application and the surface being painted.

Estimated Dry Time: Depending on your climate, the paint will be dry to the touch within 30-60 minutes.

Clean Up: Clean up and spills and spatters, along with your painting tools, using warm soapy water.

Thinning: Thinning is not necessary, however, for a variety of looks and techniques, paint can easily be thinned with water. Test with very small amounts to achieve your desired consistency.

Junk Gypsy™ Paint is safe to use while pregnant.
