May took a big jump on the Christmas saving front thanks to cutting the cord and joining HULU and Summertime goodies that are staples in our family being offered by the savings apps.
There was one glitch though. If you remember last month I told you there was a Walmart Savings Catcher receipt that hadn’t processed. Well, it finally did and I did not get the BOGO offers that were at the other store. You can read the full post about what happened HERE and we’ll just move on with what did happen this month.
Checkout 51 –I get nothing if you sign up but it’s a great program – They had some good offers this month including Vlasic Pickles which I’m addicted to. Total on this program $18.00
Ebates – What I get for referring 10 what you get for using my referral $10 – As I said we cut the cord and signed up with HULU through Ebates which gave us $25 back. We also bought a couple Roku boxes through Ebates and I referred my sister so the total is now – $54.73 with the $10.41 on my last Ebates check I have in total $65.14
Shopkicks – Referal Code: SAVE725778 what we get both of us get 250 points for the referral – I’ve been getting more walk-in points and I was delayed (again) getting my prescriptions. I also received at 250 point bonus for a friend of mine who signed up this month. I’m at 5,016 points. I need 6,250 to get a $25 gift card but right now I’m at able to get 2 $10 Target gift cards for 5,000 so I’m at $20 for this program.
Fetch Rewards – Referal Code GB0QJ We both get 1500 points for the referral – Do I ever LOVE this one! By far my favorite because I don’t have to do anything but scan a receipt to get points and most of the time I get bonus points. They are now offering giveaways for entering receipts too which is fun. I’m at 15,226 points. I could trade these in now for a $5 & $10 gift cards so I’m at $15
SavingsStar – what we get for referral nothing but I like them so they are here – There were a lot more offers with SavingsStar this month. And I linked one of my store cards to my account which netted me cash back. The only drawback is you have to select the offer before using your store card at the register. I might get into the habit of selecting all the offers I think I might buy before going to the store just in case. Total for this month is $12.35
Receipt Hog – A lot of points with this one too. I don’t think they’re open to new members but you get points for every receipt you scan. I’m at 2,229 this equals $10
Coupons.com App – I get nothing from this referral no bump to you either – Nothing from them this month. Again so frustrating!
Walmart Savings Catcher – Despite the bump in the Walmart Road (read about it here) I did manage to get some savings back from them. I’m at $21.07
Walgreens Balance Rewards Points – Woo Hoo! Thanks to a 7,000 point bonus coupon I’m at $55 towards stocking stuffers and other things at Walgreens (like all that As Seen on TV stuff my daughter wants).
KellogsFamilyRewards – 18,233 points this month. I use this to get free photo Christmas cards and other things that I’ll use as gifts.
Shutterfly The App – What we get for the referral we both receive an 8×8 photo book free! – Again I netted some freebies that have been set aside for Christmas gift giving. I can’t share them with you here because I know some of the recipients are reading. If you don’t have the app you really should. Every week they offer free products (just pay shipping) that make great holiday gifts including phone covers, calendars, puzzles, notepads, and tote bags all customized with your favorite photo.
So you don’t have to do the math for all these I am now at $216.56 towards my estimated holiday goal of $750. I’m pretty impressed with this experiment so far. Even if I don’t hit $750 this is already a sizeable chuck out of the Christmas pinch.
