I am not a fan of changes that I don’t arrange myself. Who is right? The unexpected is so scary and disruptive, but it is inevitable.
Peony Lane has gone through a recent change. Mom has decided to retire, travel, and relax. I can’t blame her really. Sounds like an awesome prospect for the future!
Of course, that means I’m now by myself in all this mess. Mom might pop in every once in awhile with a quest post and Dad is my most valuable, unpaid, worker (he knows more about repairing stuff than I will ever know). So he doesn’t get away that easy.
So here I am. Let me re-introduce myself to you. I am Stacy Verdick Case. I do more than just upcycle and craft. I also write a moderately successful mystery series called the Catherine O’Brien series (I beat Janet Evanovich for one whole day on Amazon rankings. Not a bestseller but I’ll take it) and I host a book show for MyTalk 107.1 FM in the Twin Cities.
I love all aspects of what I do but what I love most is my family. I am momma to one daughter who is precocious as they come and a son who waits for me in heaven. My husband and I have been married forever! Seriously, we’ve now been together longer than we lived apart.
I live in Minnesota on 5 rolling acres and I can’t imagine living anywhere else. Except in the winter when it’s 20 below zero and I’ve spent 3 hours in traffic because of a snow storm. Then I would like to live somewhere there’s a palm tree or two.
So this change isn’t one I welcome with open arms but I welcome it anyway. We learn who we really are in change.
